Social Responsibility - Online Service instead of physical Sunday Service.
27 March 2020
Dear Members and Friends as this global health emergency continues to unfold, we live in tension of the present stressful times and anxious moments. Pray for me as I learn how to best navigate these uncertain and troublesome waters
Let us be reminded of what Jesus said,
“Therefore I tell you, do not be anxious about your life, what you will eat or what you will drink, nor about your body, what you will put on. Is not life more than food, and the body more than clothing? Look at the birds of the air: they neither sow nor reap nor gather into barns, and yet your heavenly Father feeds them. Are you not of more value than they?
And which of you by being anxious can add a single hour to his span of life? And why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow: they neither toil nor spin, yet I tell you, even Solomon in all his glory was not arrayed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today is alive and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, will he not much more clothe you, O you of little faith? Therefore do not be anxious, saying, ‘What shall we eat?’ or ‘What shall we drink?’ or ‘What shall we wear?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things, and your heavenly Father knows that you need them all. But seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. “Therefore do not be anxious about tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Sufficient for the day is its own trouble.”
– Matthew 6:25-34 (ESV)
I am praying that you and your family are safe and well. We are in this together. And we can take comfort knowing the Lord is with us. Last week we asked how we could pray for you, and we’ve intensify our prayer time for you and family. As we continue to lift you up, I invite you to seek God’s guidance and protection.
Work, school, church, and daily life have been disrupted, but no earthly challenge, no matter how daunting, can separate us from the love of God. Wash your hands, then fold them in prayer. We’re all doing our best to slow this virus down, and in the meantime we can lean into faith together, trusting that God’s still got the whole world in His hands. And nothing can separate us from the love of God.
On 24-Mar-2020, the Ministry of Health (MOH) announced stricter measures to enforce social distancing and to discourage overseas travel, as the number of COVID-19 patients’ increase in Singapore. As a result, we learn that religious services will have to stop.
The church will continue to be open during office hours, except Mondays. The Church office is already adapting to provide care and support and share God’s love. Staff can come to work as normal, to their workplace. We will provide on-line Service, pastoral care, serve Communion, do counseling and continue normal pastoral and ministry. We will be mindful about social distancing and keeping group size to ten.
Please note that we will be live streaming this Sunday at 10.30 am via the Zoom social platform. Do log in 15 minutes before service starts.
