If you are looking for a relational faith community where you can learn how to follow Christ intentionally and systematically, Maranatha is the place for you! We believe the church needs to be equipped to bring the gospel to the unchurched in light of Christ's soon coming. My Story
Growing up in a Chinese Folk religion background, it was God's grace that I received Christ in Fairfield Methodist Secondary School at age 15 after watching the Jesus Film. The Lord began to deliver me from my various addictions and gave me a new purpose in life. I began to grow and serve actively in Campus Crusade for Christ (Cru) during my 3 years at the National University of Singapore. I received the call to Ministry upon graduation in 1999. I went to Assemblies of God Bible College and graduated with a Master of Theological Studies while serving God full-time. In 2005, I also graduated with a Graduate Diploma in Social Work from NUS and used to volunteer actively with youths-at-risk.
From 2010-2021, I joined Grace Assembly of God and have served as Head of Next Generation Ministries and Head of Discipleship. In 2018, I received my Doctorate of Ministry on Missional Church from Fuller Theological Seminary. In Oct 2021, I was invited to join Maranatha Christian Assembly and took over as Senior Pastor in Aug 2022. I am just amazed at how God can call and use me despite my many inadequacies as a pastor. I am honored and humbled to serve together with the good people at Maranatha. I am passionate about teaching and preaching God's Word and Gospel for life transformation. He has Advance Certificate in Adult Learning and is a Certified Performance Leadership Coach.
I am married to my lovely wife Geok Hong and blessed with 3 teenage kids, Isabelle, Iris and Isaiah. My hobbies include fishing and playing with our dog, Hippo.
